Book Launch Event – A Transdisciplinary Study of Global Mobilities

Identities On The Move.

Book launch.

The volume A Transdisciplinary Study of Global Mobilities: Identities on the Move brings to light the complexity of contemporary identity formation and transformation through an exploration of experiences of displacement from a variety of cultural and national backgrounds. This multi-geographical and multi-disciplinary approach decentralises previous narratives of migration by reformulating them against coloniality and invisibility within a contemporary map of dynamic identities and nations that are no longer homogenous.

The volume explores the agency of the displaced, and it does so by facilitating a dialogue between different geographies and disciplines through the analyses of literary and speech acts, artistic representations, autoethnographies and narratives. These creations give voice to the displaced, presenting them as active agents in their own self- identity (trans)formation.

To celebrate this new publication largely supported by MIDEX and AMIS, a hybrid book launch will bring together all the contributors and editors from ten different European institutions. The event will feature panels and presentations where contributors will share insights from the volume, creating opportunities for dialogue.
