Join us on the 6th December 2023 for our UCLan APS Scholarship Event. In this you will hear from funders, study opportunities and work placements available to students of UCLan focusing on the Asia Pacific Region.

These discussions include:

  • Representatives of the Taipei Representative Office in the UK (TRO) to discuss Taiwan scholarships and opportunities.
  • Pagoda Projects discussing several funded opportunities they have for UCLan students and work programmes.
  • Think Pacific focusing on projects and placements for students in South Pacific islands.
  • Associate Lecturer of Korean Studies, JaeWook Ryu, on current IKSU scholarships.
  • Lecturer in Japanese, Dr Mareike Hamann, on current scholarships:
  • The GBSF postgraduate studentship (for UK)
  • The DAIWA scholarship in Japanese Studies (UK or Japan)
  • The MEXT postgraduate scholarship (Japan)

The Discussion will be broken down by region followed by a Q&A session with the speakers for additional questions:

  • 1:00-1:20 – Taiwanese scholarships and opportunities
  • 1:20-1:40 – Pagoda Projects
  • 1:40-2:00 – Think Pacific student opportunities
  • 2:00-2:15 – Korean scholarships and opportunities
  • 2:15-2:30 – Japanese scholarships and opportunities
  • 2:30-3:00 – Q&A Session (with refreshments)
